GENERAL DATA

Members of the discipline have published more than 300 articles, more than 30 of them in ISI / MEDLINE / BDI indexed journals.

They are (have been) authors or co-authors on 24 national patents in the field of medicines.

The discipline has completed more than 30 research contracts with national and/or international funding.

The main areas of research are:

• Myometrium. Mechanisms and characteristics of myometrial contraction. Pharmacology of uterine contraction.
• Female sex hormones. Mechanisms of action. Effects. Pharmacological features.
• Antihypertensives, antiarrhythmics, antiasthmatics.
• Striated muscle. Characteristics of striated muscle contraction. Pharmacology of striated muscle contraction.
• Cholinergic autonomic innervation. Physiological characteristics. Pharmacology of the cholinergic autonomic nervous system.
• Immunology of lupus nephropathy. Anti-DNA antibodies

DOCTORAL SCHOOL

Within the discipline of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, more than 100 PhD Theses have been completed, under the direction of Academician Prof. PhD Victor A Voicu, Prof. PhD Florica Popescu and Prof. PhD Valentin Cîrlig.

Currently there are 11 PhD students under the supervision of Prof. PhD Florica Popescu and 5 under the supervision of Prof. PhD Valentin Cîrlig.
