1 lună

Set-up of a structured database and definition of the experiemental models
  •   90696 RON
  • Obiective
The main goal of the experimental study is to evaluate tumor vasculature in CRC by high-resolution imaging technique (CEH-EUS) and correlate the data with angiogenesis markers expression (VEGF and VEGF receptors), assessed preoperatively by quantitative real-time PCR.
  • Activități
Activity A 1.1 Set-up of a structured database and definition of the experimental models Activity A1.2. Protocol based inclusion of patients.

1 lună

Protocol based inclusion of patients (CE-EUS and CLE) and data sampling.
  •   640656 RON
  • Obiective
Up to date, twenty patients were enrolled in the study (ages 49-76 years, see attached patient database). Four of these patients were imaged with laser confocal microscopy and included in the feasibility study that was presented as a poster at the 2011 United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) international conference. The extensive feasibility study was published in the PlusONE journal (see attached in print manuscript). The data from the remaining (and future) patients which are imaged by contrast ultrasound endoscopy are currently processed and analysed for publication in a similar or better ISI journal. In 2013, the research results will be presented to DDW (Digestive Disease Week Conference, Orlando, Florida), UEWG (United European Gastroenterology Week. Berlin, Germany) and will be published in ISI Journal PlosOne, Impact Factor: 4.
  • Activități
A1.2. Protocol based inclusion of patients (CE-EUS and CLE) and data sampling. A2.3. Pathological and immunohistological analysis of biopsies. A3.1. Development of the mathematical model for the normal and treated CRC MVN (colorectal cancer microvascular network). A4.1. Manuscript editing and submission to PLoS ONE journal.

1 lună

Mathematical model of the anti-angiogenic treated MVN
  •   245137 RON
  • Obiective
    1. To map the MVN and cellular components of normal colorectal tissue and CRC tumors before and after treatment in CRC patients. 2. To develop computer simulations of blood flow and structural adaptation of the MVN in CRC tumors.
  • Activități
1.1. Pathological and immunohistological analysis of biopsies. 2.1. Development of the mathematical model for the normal and treated CRC MVN (colorectal cancer microvascular network).

5 luni

Forecasting antiogenesis during and after antiangiogenic treatment
  •   723094 RON
  • Obiective
    1. To develop computer simulations of blood flow and structural adaptation of the MVN in CRC tumors. 2. Based on clinical observations and mathematical modeling a stratification scheme for prognosis and treatment management will be designed.
  • Activități
1.1. Development of the mathematical model for the normal and treated CRC MVN (colorectal cancer microvascular network). 2.1.Forecasting angiogenesis during and after oncological tratment.
