English Language

The English Language subject within the Department of Modern Languages has been active since 1998.

It is considered a basic subject in the training of students in the first two years of study, towards a better understanding of the specialist materials published in the main languages.

Within the discipline there is a constant concern for scientific research, as evidenced by the participation of its members in congresses and communication sessions, both nationally and internationally, the publication of an impressive number of articles and reviews in specialized journals, authored volumes.

The English language courses aim at familiarising students with the medical language and developing specialist speech formation skills.

Students acquire specific medical vocabulary and simultaneously deepen the lexico-grammatical subtleties for written and oral communication in the medical field, based on the descriptors provided in the Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages.

The lectures are based on current textbooks and are conducted in a modern, interactive way  with audio-visual format.

The activity of the English language discipline is didactic, research, transdisciplinary: language proficiency tests: English, Romanian; post-graduate courses; student scientific forums.
