The Mobile Unit of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova was deployed to provide free dental consultations and treatments. Beneficiaries received personalized treatment plans, oral hygiene procedures (scaling and professional brushing), as well as information on oral health education. For more complex rehabilitations, some of them were treated at the clinical base of the Faculty of Dentistry. The project represented a significant step in facilitating access to dental services, being integrated into the institutional program of UMF Craiova, which has developed, in this context, a long-term partnership with the 'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.

The team involved consisted of teaching staff (Assistant Professor Dr. Andreea Stănuși, Assistant Professor Dr. Dorin Gheorghe, Assistant Professor Dr. Mihai Petrescu, PhD Student Adrian Stănuși, PhD Student Cristian Băcanu, PhD Student Mihaela Brătoiu) and 5th and 6th-year students from the Faculty of Dentistry within UMF Craiova

On the same occasion, UMF Craiova received a visit from the representatives of Ford Philanthropy: Mike Schmidt (Vice President, Ford Philanthropy), Benna Deese (Global Development Manager), Debbie Chennells (Senior Manager, Ford Philanthropy Europe), and Judith Kleinemeyer (Senior Manager, Ford Philanthropy Europe).

The initiative was carried out with the support of Ford Philanthropy, the philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company, as well as the Rotary Club Craiova Probitas—partners actively involved in the development and operation of the mobile unit.
