On the occasion of World Oral Health Day, on March 20, 2025, the team from the Faculty of Dentistry within the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova conducted oral health education activities in preschool and school-age educational institutions in Craiova, as part of the project entitled 'Smile and Health through Education'.

Three working teams were formed to carry out the action simultaneously in three school and preschool centers: the 'Elena Cuza' National College, the 'Saint Anthony' Roman Catholic Kindergarten, and the 'Childhood Rainbow' Full-Day Kindergarten

The activities were coordinated by Assistant Professor Dr. Andreea Stănuși, Assistant Professor Dr. Mihai Petrescu, and Assistant Lecturer Dr. Anca Gheorghe, alongside student volunteers from the Dental Students' Society. As part of the project, over 150 children benefited from information regarding the importance of maintaining oral health, correct brushing techniques, and the role of a balanced diet in preventing oral diseases.

Additionally, each child received a toothpaste adapted to their age group, as well as educational materials intended for the entire family, aiming to promote oral health within the home environment.

The project was carried out in partnership with the 'Carol Davila' University of Medicine and Pharmacy, the National Institute of Public Health, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and the County School Inspectorates, while also benefiting from the support of partners Elmex and Haleon.
