The Urology Discipline is part of Department 6 of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova. It was founded in the academic year 1973/1974, headed by Prof. Petre Paul Georgescu. The theoretical concepts are presented to students in 7 courses. The practical work is carried out over a whole semester in two-week modules. The team provides students with the most recent data on the subjects of the study programme, the last course material being published in 2021.

Within the discipline there are courses and internships for students in the Faculty of General Medicine (Year IV), Faculty of Midwives and Nursing (Year III), General Medicine, English Language Section (Year IV). Internships are carried out in the Urology Clinic and the Urology Operating Block, 7th Floor, Craiova Emergency Clinical County Hospital. The courses are organized in the premises of UMF Craiova.

The Urology Clinic is equipped with modern medical equipment that provides us with didactic support during practical training.

Within the discipline, undergraduate work is carried out by students from the Faculty of General Medicine (Year VI), Faculty of Midwives and Nursing (Year IV), under the coordination of teachers.
