HISTORY OF O.R.L. DISCIPLINE

The O.R.L. discipline was established in 1974 for teaching and research purposes with the introduction of the course in the fifth year of study.  The initial team of the ORL Clinic consisted of Prof. Savel Obreja (1975), head of the O.R.L. Clinic, Assistant Prof. Boiko (Teslencov) Valentina (1976). The next teacher was Mustață (Ioniță) Elena who entered medical education in 1980 as a university assistant (1993 - head of O.R.L. works, 1998 - O.R.L. lecturer, 2002 - O.R.L. university professor, 2005 - O.R.L. doctorate supervisor. From 2004 to 2022 assistant professor Mălin Ramona Denise was an ORL teacher.

The current team of the O.R.L. Discipline is composed of Associate professor Anghelina Florin, Associate Professor Mitroi Mihaela Roxana, Associate professor Carmen Mogoantă, Head of works Ciolofan Sorin, Head of works Căpitănescu Alina. 

Teaching activity 

The discipline of O.R.L. is studied by the students of year V of the Faculty of General Medicine (lecture and practical work 2 hours/week/semester). Numerous articles have been published in prestigious national journals and abstract volumes of both national and international congresses. Fourteen books and monographs have been edited.

·                     Inter-county O.R.L. conference held annually/bi-annually alternating: Craiova, Tg.Jiu, Slatina, Rm.Vâlcea, Pitești 

 

            OBJECTIVES OF THE O.R.L. DISCIPLINE

General objective of the discipline

  • Mastering the necessary notions about O.R.L. clinical diagnosis
  • Understanding the O.R.L. examination conditions.
  • Learning the way to examine the O.R.L. organs.
  • Assimilation of the notions of therapeutic management of O.R.L. disorders.

Specific objectives

  • Acquiring the necessary knowledge about the organisation and functioning of the O.R.L. clinic.
  • Assimilation of the necessary notions about performing the O.R.L. clinical examination, O.R.L. therapeutic maneuvers.
  • Acquiring the necessary knowledge about performing paraclinical examinations in O.R.L. disorders.
