The fundamental aim of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova is to provide undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education. We want to train students, doctors who are able to solve the problems they will face, who believe that medical education is a lifelong education and who are dedicated to health, are committed to their patients, are responsible and involved.

We want to train our students so that they know and use the most up-to-date scientific knowledge in order to make the best and correct diagnosis and apply the appropriate treatment, master the vastness of information of modern medicine, assimilate the innovations in medicine in terms of treatment and diagnosis. In modern medicine, the doctor is not only responsible for diagnosing and treating the patient. For this reason, we train our students to highly value public health and preventive medicine and to take on a role as educators in the midst of their community.

Our vision as a faculty is to remain a sought-after and respected center of medical education and scientific research and healthcare delivery, and to develop in keeping with the latest developments in world medicine.  We have a modern curriculum, with teaching in Romanian and English, research laboratories equipped with the most modern technology, we have highly trained academic staff.

Our students will graduate from the Faculty of Medicine of UMFCV with all these qualities and will become dedicated and skilled doctors. They will be committed to health, the most precious asset of people, and will take pride in their Faculty.
