The University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Craiova maintains its presence in the international rankings made by Times Higher Education, in which 2191 universities are evaluated. The result confirms the stability of academic and research performance in the World University Rankings 2026.

In the national standings - the universities of medicine, UMF Craiova is maintained on the third global. UMF Craiova is positioned in the range of 1001-1200, and in the clinical clinical & health rankings is found in the 801-1000 range.

The analysis of the indicators used by Times Higher Education highlights clear strengths of UMF Craiova in the field of research, especially in terms of research quality (Research Quality). The score obtained at this indicator reflects the scientific impact of publications, the visibility of research results and their integration into the international academic circuit, confirmed by articles published in indexed journals and by participating in national and international research projects.

The Research Environment Indicator captures the size and institutional capacity of the research ecosystem, the effect in the process of consolidation at UMF Craiova. In this respect, the Institutional Development Strategy 2025-2029 provides for consistent investments in the research, digitization and project management infrastructure, as well as the development of dedicated structures, such as the research department.
