The Universitary Medical Publishing House, Craiova was founded in 1999, after the organization of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Craiova, within the "MEDICINA" Foundation.
The "Medicina" cultural-scientific foundation represents a legal person, non-profit making, of the academic staff and students of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Craiova, and of other men of science and medical practice in Oltenia, with the objective of contributing to the education and scientific research prestige by increasing the intellectual specialized potential within the Oltenia area.
With this purpose, the Foundation proposes to support the organization of some scientific and international events, involving the participation of interested members, medical staff, didactic and research staff and students.
The objective of the Foundation is to promote internal and international collaboration with foundations, similar associations and various academic institutions.
The foundation also proposes to contribute to the development of material assets necessary for the research and educational process in UMF Craiova.

The Universitary Medical Publishing House (EMUC) activates within the "MEDICINA" Foundation, in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Craiova, in accordance with the Decision of the University Senate 25 B/16.12.1998 and with the Decision 1/13.04.1999 pf the Council of "MEDICINA" Foundation Management.
The main objective of founding the publishing house is:
To support, by its published papers, the educational and research processes;
To present the results of personal and collective scientific researches of the didactic staff;
To support the publishing of medical and pharmaceutical literature by doctors and pharmacists in Oltenia.
The objective of EMUC activity is the annual publishing of cultural-scientific papers, with a profit and capitalization, from all domains, in the interest of the research and the educational processes.
