METHODOLOGY OF ADMISSION TO STUDIES FOR CITIZENS FROM E.U. COUNTRIES, EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AREA, SWISS CONFEDERATION AND FROM NON E.U. STATES

 

 

 

    The methodology of admission to studies of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova is developed in compliance with:

·         The stipulations of the National Education Law no. 1/2011

·         OMEC 4205/2020

·         OMEN 3473/17.03.2017

* The tuition fees may suffer changes during the study years with the approval of the Senate of UMF Craiova.

 

   The eligible applicants are the citizens of the E.U., the E.E.A., the Swiss Confederation or Non E.U. countries who:

-          have documents that certify the citizenship of the state of origin and who require the enrollment to studies in Romania on own expenses;

-          have study documents issued by educational institutions recognized in the country of origin;

-          submitted the file by the deadline established by this methodology.

 

   Should be taken into consideration that courses offered for a degree in Medicine and Dental Medicine – English language section are taught in English but due to the need for the doctor-patient communication, practical works, clinical trainings are carried out in Romanian language starting with the fourth year of study.

 

 

   Application steps:

! If you want to apply for both programmes of study you need to create two different accounts( with different mail address)!

1. The candidate will apply for U.M.F. of Craiova by accessing the online platform and will fill in all the fields with requested information and upload all the mentioned documents.

 Please be sure that:

-          all your documents are scanned in PDF format only and the name of the document must include the type of document and the candidate’s surname ( passport.Smith, transcriptofrecords.Smith, etc. ).

-          you use a valid Gmail or Yahoo address that consists of your name and surname.

 

 

2. The online submissions of the candidates will be processed by International Relations Office and if:

- the file is complete, the candidate will receive a validation notice through the platform;

- the file is incomplete, the candidate will receive a correction notice through the platform in order to upload the missing documents or modify the incorrect and incomplete fields.

  The processing fee for the submitted file is 200 euros. For the candidates who  own a High School Diploma obtained in Romania the processing fee for the submitted file is 100 euros.  

 

   All the submitted files will be processed and receive a registration number but only the complete ones will be declared eligible.

 

    For the candidates who own a High School Diploma obtained in Romania the processing fee for the submitted file is different. 

 

3. After the preliminary results are published on umfcv.ro, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova will send the required documents to the Ministry of Education and Research of Romania in order to obtain the certificates of recognition of studies (for E.U. citizens) and letters of acceptance (for non E.U. citizens). When the answer is received (could take up to 30 working days) we decide together the way through which the document will reach the candidate.

   Take into consideration that the enrollment will be possible if the candidate’s studies will be recognized by the Ministry of Education and Research.

   All candidates included on the preliminary results list must send a Confirmation or Declining Statement their place until 9th of August 2021 at the following mail addresses:

   Medicine in English: med.admission@umfcv.ro

   Dental Medicine in English: dent.admission@umfcv.ro

 

   All candidates on the preliminary results list will send the file physically by courier (DHL, UPS, FedEx etc.) until 20th of August 2021. The file must include all the documents uploaded on the on-line platform.

 

4. Enrollment process is fulfilled upon submitting to the International Relations Office (2, Petru Rareş Street, Craiova, Romania):

- the original high school diploma or the equivalent and a notary statement, in Romanian, specifying the date when the original high school diploma shall be submitted;

-  the study contract signed and dated (downloaded from the admission platform);

-    the receipt for tuition fee payment – non-refundable amount ( 50% for E.U. citizens, 100% for non E.U. citizens) at:

4. University Application Essay – maximum 400 words (dated and signed);

5. English Language Proficiency Certificate – minimum B2 level issued by an accredited institution – 1 copy

  Exemption from it:

   -citizens from countries where the official language is English;

   -citizens who have completed High School studies in an educational institution where the teaching language was English;

6. High School Diploma or the equivalent1 copy (certified as authentic by a notary) and 1 translation in English or Romanian (certified as authentic by a notary);

  If you submit the equivalent issued by the high school institution, it has to specify the average grade of the Final High School examination, the passed subjects, grades and the validity term of the certificate. It is also mandatory to provide a notary statement (translated in English or Romanian) with the term for submitting the high school diploma.

  Depending on the country your High School Diploma is issued it must be authenticated with Hague Apostille or authenticated by:

ü  Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country;

ü  Embassy/Consular Office of Romania in the issuing country or the issuing country’s Embassy/Consular Office in Romania (for countries where Romania does not have a diplomatic mission or countries which do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the study documents shall be authenticated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country);

ü  Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Romania;

Check the list of accepted High School Diplomas by the Ministry of Education  for the enrollment to studies of foreign citizens

  

Important! It might be necessary for you to submit additional documents beside your high school diploma - if you do, please have 1 copy (certified as authentic by a notary) and 1 translation in English or Romanian (certified as authentic by a notary).

   If the name and surname of the candidate on the high school diploma are not identical to the name and surname mentioned on his/her birth certificate or passport, the candidate is required to submit a notary statement that certifies that he is the legal holder of the diploma.

7. Transcript of Records for each high school year of study  1 copy (certified as authentic by a notary) and 1 translation in English or Romanian (certified as authentic by a notary);

8.  Other documents – that can improve your score (e.g. graduation diploma from another university medical or non-medical studies, volunteer certificates medicine related – maximum 2) - translated in English or Romanian;

9. Birth Certificate – 1 copy and 1 translation in English or Romanian (certified as authentic by a notary);

10. Passport Copy or Personal Identity Document Copy (attesting the residence abroad) – valid at least six months after the date when the certificate of recognition of high school studies was issued by the Ministry of Education and Research of Romania;

11. Medical certificate and psychological examination in Romanian or English – 1 copy – it must include information regarding the candidate’s possible chronic disease, signed and sealed by the family doctor/specialist who examined the candidate and must contain the official stamp of the medical institution that issued it;

12.  6 passport size photos;

13. Only Romanian citizens must submit a notary statement where they testify their acknowledgement on their rights and obligations and that it is their personal choice to study as foreign citizens on own expenses;

14. Personal data processing agreement (filled, dated and signed);

15. The statement which certifies that the submitted documents are authentic and the scanned documents are in accordance with the original ones.

NON-E.U. COUNTRIES

Selection process

 

I. The analysis of the submitted files will be processed by the Admission Committee in the order in which the applications are received and the preliminary results will be published on 6th of August 2021 on umfcv.ro

II. The selection of the candidates will be done in decreasing order of the obtained score, according to the selection criteria mentioned below.

This Methodology was approved in the Senate meeting on 18.03.2021 and will be updated with new information regarding the amount of the tuition fee for the academic year 2021/2022 and the number of places set by the Ministry of Education and Research for each programme of study.
